Riding In Wet Weather / Rain

Wondering if it's OK to ride your electric unicycle in the rain? The short answer is: it depends. InMotion's products are weather-sealed internally to protect the components. Kingsong and Gotway/Begode units are less protected in general but have made significant improvements in past years. No unit is 100% waterproof.

Here's what you need to look out for when exposing your electric unicycle to the elements:

  1. Make sure the rubber charge port cover is fully intact and inserted so water won't enter the compartment or make contact with the charging leads. If your port cover is missing, please contact us for a replacement.
  2. Light rain and wet surfaces are safe for your electric unicycle, but prolonged sessions of exposure and heavy rain increase the risk of eventual problems
  3. Avoid puddles: it's often difficult to tell how deep the water is!
  4. If your unit does get wet, dry it off and let it sit in a dry spot to dry any water that may have entered the unit.

Don't Forget To Protect Yourself!

Your wheel isn't the only important thing to look after in wet conditions. Always take extra caution when riding on wet or slippery surfaces, as you might lose control. In most cases, balancing won't be affected, but you can still lose traction, especially turning or maneuvering. Banking and carving are high risks any time you may lose traction due to a slippery surface.
