How to: Remove V10 / V10F Outer Shell
- Remove the pedal:
- Remove the 5mm grub screw that covers the pedal rod on the front and rear of the pedal.
- Remove the 4mm grub screw under the pedal bracket that secures the pedal rod in.
- Hammer out the pedal rod to remove it. Remove the pedal rod spacers and pedal.
- Remove the outer shell screws:
- Remove the 2x Phillips head screws from the side of the outer shell, located to the front and rear of the pedal bracket.
- Remove the 2x Phillips head screws from the front and rear of the outer shell, located under the unit by the wheel well.
- Pop the outer shell off:
- Find the small ridges around the edge of the outer shell. There are 2 near the top of the unit and 2 near the front and rear. These are where the clips attach from the outer to inner shells.
- Note: If you're removing the handle side, slightly pop out the handle.
- Using a small flathead screwdriver, insert it in between the outer shell and the front plastic piece of the wheel at one of the top ridges. Gently pop the outer shell up using the flathead. Repeat for the other top ridge.
- Between the 2 ridges on the front of the unit, insert the flathead screwdriver. Pop up the shell. Repeat the process on the rear of the unit. A loud "pop" may occur when the inner shell separates from the outer shell.
- At this point, the outer shell clips are disconnected from the inner shell. Slide the outer shell off the bottom of the unit.
